Meet Mrs Swash - Teaching assistant

Hello I am Mrs Swash. I have lived in Carlton all of my life and came to Carlton Primary School when I was tiny like you.

When I am not at school I try to keep fit.  I dabble in a bit of jogging, go cycling around near home or further away in the Dales where it really tests your legs.  Swimming is top on my list though.  I am truly missing it  during lock-down,  as all the swimming pools are closed,  so I have decided to take the plunge and attempt it outdoors in a lake.  The only thing that is worrying me is the fish!  I will let you all know how I get on when we return in September.  Also I love to crochet, draw, paint, bake, listen to music and dance. Spending time with my family is really important to me too. During the summer months we bar-be-que together  or go for long walks and in the winter months we have pie club, the strange thing is I am generally the host.  Quiet time for me is when I read a good book.I really enjoy autobiographies or history based stories.

It has been quite odd not getting to meet you.   I am really pleased I am your class TA and look forward to doing some exciting Art with you.

See you in September

Mrs Swash

Hello from George

Hello Mrs Smith,

My name is George. I go to Fieldside Nursery in Great Heck. I live in Camblesforth with my big sister Freya who is going into Y2 in September.

My birthday is on 9 January. I like to go swimming and during lockdown I have been using my new water slide into our paddling pool! I enjoy baking, going for bike rides with my family and crabbing at the seaside. I often help my dad to fix or make useful things around the house.

I like to play with my Power Rangers, make inventions with my Rusty Rivets toys and I have all the Mighty Pup toys from Paw Patrol. I also like to dress up as the red Power Ranger or Darth Vader, and I have a good dinosaur costume.

I like rolling down hills, jumping in puddles and I used to go to gymnastics classes in Sherburn in Elmet. I like music a lot, including tracks from Moana and Frozen. Some of my favourite subjects are the solar system and dinosaurs.

Thank you George for these fantastic photographs. Wow, how amazing are you on your bike with no stabilisers!

Meet Mrs Bramley - Higher Level Teaching Assistant

All about me

Hello, I'm Mrs Bramley and I can't wait to be your teaching assistant in September.  I know it's strange that we haven't had chance to meet yet but I can't wait to take care of you and have lots of fun together.

I have been a Nursery Nurse for 26 years, and 10 of these have been at Carlton Primary school.

I live quite close to school in a little village called Great Heck. I have two big boys who are 17 and 15 who used to came to Carlton Primary school like you, called Jack and Josh. Jack is at College doing A levels and Josh is at High school doing his GCSE's.

When I am not at school I spend my time watching my boys play table tennis. They both train really hard and go in lots of competitions all over the country. Josh is very talented and is heading towards the England team. I love music and I am in charge of our wonderful school choir with Mrs Smith. I can play lots of instruments but I love playing the cornet the best.  I used to play in a brass band with Mrs Smith from being a child but I don't get time to do it now with my boys being so busy. I like to spend time with my big sister Mrs Smith who is your teacher over lock down doing funny quizzes written by her son Kieran.

I can't wait to hear about you.

Could you ask your Mum or Dad to send Mrs Smith a photograph of you that we can put on our Blog to introduce you to your new class mates.
Can you tell me some exciting things you would want your new friends to know about you?

Here are some ideas.

Where did you go to Nursery?
Which village do you live in?
Have you got any brothers or sisters?
When is your birthday?
What do you like to do with your family?
What do you like to play with?
Is there anything else you would like us to know?

Please email your photograph and facts about yourself to:

mrssmith2020@carlton-in-snaith.n-yorks.sch.uk

I am looking forward to hearing all about you.

Meet the teacher - Mrs Smith Eagle Class

All about me

This is my dog Brackie who is 14.

Hello, I'm Mrs Smith and I can't wait to be your new teacher in September.  I know it's a bit odd that we haven't had chance to meet yet but I promise I will take care of you and we will have lots of fun playing together.
I have been a teacher for 28 years, and 26 of these have been at Carlton Primary school because I love it so much!

I live quite close to school in a little village called Gowdall. I have two big boys who are 21 and 18 who used to came to Carlton Primary school like you, called Kieran and Aidan. They are both at University, one taking his solicitors qualifying exams, and one sports therapy with football academy, but they still live at home with me.

When I am not at school I spend my time watching lots of football with my family either at Doncaster Rovers where I am a season ticket holder, or watching Aidan who is a goalkeeper play or train every night as he is a semi-professional goalkeeper for Goole AFC.  When I am not watching football I like to read, I have so many books my house is like a library. I love music and like to sing at school as it makes you feel happy. I can play lots of instruments like piano and tenor horn but I don't get to do this as much as I used to. I like to spend time with my little sister Mrs Bramley who is my teaching assistant - you can read about her next.

I would really like to hear about you.

Could you ask your Mum or Dad to send me a photograph of you that I can put on our Blog to introduce you to your new class mates.
