Hello Alps class
I hope you have all had a fantastic weekend and those of you self-isolating aren’t feeling too poorly. Here is today’s home learning.
English/Talk4Writing
Today we would like you to continue working on the story map you made last week for the three little pigs.
We would like you to tell the story to your grown-up and ask them to scribe exactly what you say to go with your story map.
Please add your fabulous work to Tapestry.

English/Talk4Writing - The Three Little Pigs
Today we are going to make our own story paths. We have used this method lots of times at school over the last term.
First of all get your grown up to draw a large reversed S on a large piece of paper.
Next ask your child to add their own pictures to sequence the story. We use an open book to represent “Once upon a time,” and a sun to represent “early one morning” Next ask them to draw simple pictures in the sequence of the story eg the house of straw, the house of sticks, the house of bricks until they get to the end of the story. (They can look at the original map if they forget the sequence)
Once they have completed all of the pictures then we ask the child to tell us the story. You will need scribe the story and write the actual words they say (word for word) next to each picture as they talk it through. This is where you will find out if your child has internalised the text. We have been amazed at how many children are able to tell the story word for word using the high level of language the Takk4Writing texts teach them.
