Wednesday 13th January

Hello, I hope you all enjoyed your Yoga yesterday.

Here is today's learning.

 Phonics

Today’s Set 2 sound is “ar - start the car”.   It will be uploaded at 9.30 and you have 24 hours to watch it before it has been removed.

When the lesson has finished I would like you to take a break before joining the page again. Now I would like you to watch the Set 2 spelling video to match today’s sound. You will need your pink homework book and a pencil.  You will need your grown up to keep pausing the video to give you time to write and check your words, as Rosie might be working faster or slower than you.

Reading

Mrs Bramley's phonics group - Red Ditty Book 4 Hug Hug

Today’s book is Hug Hug.  Watch the video and learn your story green words before reading the book.

                                     Here is the link.

Remember to ask your grown up to read the questions for today’s book.

Mrs Smith’s big phonics group - Ditty 2 - bad dog

Here is the video link for bad dog ditty.

Mrs Smith’s small phonics group - Can you Fred talk to read these CVC words? Remember to point under each sound.  Now can you read the words using Fred in your head?

Maths

Numberblocks Episode Series 3 - episode 13 “ Five and friends” Here is the link for the programme. You can also find it on BBC iPlayer.

In today’s episode the numbers 6,7,8,9,10 all realise they are 5 and a bit.
Can you draw pictures to show how each number is 5 and a bit eg if you chose 6 you would draw 5 and a 1, 7 is a 5 and a 2 etc.

English - Talk4Writing - The Three Little pigs

How did you get on learning the text from yesterday? Did you enjoy listening to the story?

Today we are introducing our story map. We use this to remind us about the sequence of the story. When we tell the story at school we use the map to prompt us and remind us what comes next in the story.

Today I would like you to use the story map to tell your grown-up the story.  Remember to begin the story with Once upon a time.....

Afternoon tasks

Music

Can you learn the Three Little Pigs song. Can you clap along to the beat of the music?
Can you perform the song for us? Here is a link to the song

Story time

This is another of our class favourites, Shark in the Park.  The children absolutely love joining in with this story. Here’s a link to an online version read by the Author Nick Sharrat with a draw along activity to go with is.

Have fun, and don’t forget to add your home learning to Tapestry.
