Monday 31st January 2022

Good morning Alps class
I hope you have all had a lovely weekend and are all well and with us in school 😊
For those of you at home, here is today’s home learning.

Maths

This week we begin our new unit Growing 6,7,8.

Please watch the Numberblock episodes Series 2 on BBC iPlayer for numbers 6,7 and 8 throughout this week. Today our focus is on Number 6.

Oh no!

Mr Cooper has been very worried this weekend while he has been working in school on his own. He told me that there have been some unusual things happening and he feels that he is being watched. Here are some clues he found over in the Forest school area.

He also heard some strange noises at night

  • What do you think has made those marks on the trees?
  • What are those strange grey and brown furry looking lumps on the ground? What are those white flakes sticking out of the lumps?
  • What type of animal has made those tracks in the mud?
  • What is the noise Mr Cooper heard?
Using all the clues you tell your grown up who or what is watching Mr Cooper?
Can you describe what it looks like?
Where do you think it is living?

Afternoon tasks

This afternoon we will be continuing to explore powder paint and colour mixing.
Starting with yellow paint a rectangle, can you gradually add a tiny bit of red and paint another?
Keep adding a bit of red and painting a rectangle each time until you finally end up with red paint.
What did you notice about the shades as you added more red?
What colour did you make when you added yellow and red?

Don’t forget to add your wonderful learning to Tapestry.
