Today we have our Live Zoom lesson at 1.30. Have a look below to see what you will need to bring to the lesson.
Phonics
igh - fly high
- Say the sound and learn the rhyme.
- Practise reading the words using “Fred talk”
- Can you read any of the words using “Fred in your head”
- Ask your grown-up to read the words for you to write independently.
- Now pick three words and write a sentence for each word.
- Remember to use a finger space after each word.

Don’t forget to keep learning the text - How to trap a Wolf
Here is your story map to help you sequence the story.
Have a look at today’s picture.
What can you see?
Where are the Wolf pups ?
What are they doing?
Why are they howling?
Where is the rest of their pack?
Can you write some sentences about the Wolf pups. Remember your fingers spaces and think carefully about how your letters sit on the lines. Make sure you are using your “Fred fingers” to count the sounds when you are sounding out.
Maths - Number 17 - the Artist
In today’s episode we meet number 17 who is an artist. He is made of ten and seven more. He loves to paint pictures but they must have seventeen of the same object in them. Did you notice the big word the Numberblocks kept using in the episode? Can you find out what it means in art?
Look carefully to see which colours Number 17 uses each time he paints.
Afternoon activities
Live Zoom lesson - 1.30
You will need:
- A 3 x 3 bingo board with 9 spaces. In these spaces please choose and write 9 of the following sounds on your board. You can choose from nk, ng, th, sh, ch, ay, ee, igh, ow, oo, ar, or, air, ir, ou, oy.
- Two different colour felt tip pens so we can play two games of Bingo on one card.
- Plain paper
- Felt tips or colour pencils/crayons.
- Something hard to rest a piece of paper on eg table mat, A4 hard back book, clipboard
- A copy of the sheet below with the car and tree on it. Either print a copy or draw a car and tree on a sheet of paper before the lesson starts.
