Friday 22nd January

Can you believe it’s Friday already and our last day of learning this week. We are already half way through the term. Here is today’s learning.

Phonics

Today’s Set 2 sound is “ee - what can you see?”.   It will be uploaded at 9.30 and you have 24 hours to watch it before it has been removed.

TOP TIP:  At school we are pausing the video as Rosie asks us the write the word. That way we know if the children can write the work independently, or whether they are simply copying Rosie. They need to write it on their own

When the lesson has finished I would like you to take a break before joining the page again. Now I would like you to watch the Set 2 spelling video to match today’s sound. You will need your pink homework book and a pencil.  You will need your grown up to keep pausing the video to give you time to write and check your words, as Rosie might be working faster or slower than you.

Reading

Mrs Bramley's group -Red Ditty Book 5 - Pick it up

Remember to look at this video every day to practise your Speedy green words.

Here is a copy of the pages to read at your own pace.

Don't forget to get your grown-up to ask you today's questions.

Mrs Smith’s big phonics group - Ditty 6 - Sick

Mrs Smith’s small phonics group - reading CVC words

English

Today we are going to write some CVC words independently.

You will need:
  • Your pink homework book
  • A sharp writing pencil
  • Your sound mat
Please can you write the word to match the following pictures.

Now can you put one of these words into a sentence?

Maths
Today we are looking at unlucky number 13 for the first time.

Poor Unlucky number 13 always falls into two parts when someone says his name.
Can you remember what he breaks into?  Yes, he splits into 10 and 3.

Today I would like the children to begin to understand that all teen numbers are made up of a ten and some ones. I would like you to start by drawing or making the Numberblocks for 11, 12 and 13.

Next can you draw the blocks as they split into a ten and their ones, so for 11 you would draw Numberblocks 10 and 1, 12 is 10 and 2 etc

Afternoon activities

Scavenger hunt

This afternoon we are going on a scavenger hunt!

P.E - dance/music

Todays dance session was kindly shared with us by George and his Mum.

I look forward to seeing your fabulous work and hope you have a lovely weekend.
